Staff scheduling and payroll analysis management
employee attendance recording options
Our e-Log range of staff timesheet and scheduling management software can be supplied with a variety of employee attendance recording options. This page should provide a useful guide to the current range but please call us on 01892 834406 if you have any questions.
This clocking terminal operates with i-button tags that are issued to each employee. The chromium plated buttons are hard wearing, about the size of a pound coin and are fitted onto a plastic handle that can be attached to a key ring making it convenient for staff to carry.
The terminal requires no cabling connection to a PC and therefore can be sited at any suitable internal location. Data is collected from the terminal by means of a data transfer tag that is touched against the unit. The employee clockings are transferred into the software for analysis by then inserting the data transfer tag into a reader attached to the computer.
This terminal automatically transfers employee attendance times into the software and therefore provides an instant record of a person’s entry or exit from the building. It requires a cable connection directly into the PC or to an Ethernet network with a specified IP address. If communication between the terminal and the PC or network is lost staff can continue to record their attendance times. These are stored in the unit until the connection is restored when they are then passed to the software.
The terminal can also be supplied with the option to read bar-coded or magnetic stripe badges.

It requires a cable connection directly into the PC or to an Ethernet network with a specified IP address. The terminal is only supplied with a fingerprint reader. If communication between the terminal and the PC or network is lost staff can continue to record their attendance times. These times are stored in the unit until the connection is restored when they are then passed to the software. Staff fingerprints can be registered for recognition within the system either at a PC or directly at the terminal.
This terminal combines a fingerprint reader with a 10.4" touch screen that therefore makes it very easy for staff to use and provide additional functionality outside of attendance recording. Employees are therefore able to view their holiday record and request future holidays. Additionally managers and staff can use the terminal as a message board to communicate shift requests and shift availability.
The terminal has been integrated with our range of care home management software so that it can also be used to view and record resident care information, and provide an enquiry screen for visiting relatives.
This terminal is more appropriate for less clean environments as the reader recognises an individual by the shape of their hand. Although this method is less precise than fingerprint detection it is normally adequate for most ‘non-security’ recording purposes.
In all other respects, the terminal operates in identical fashion to the on-line fingerprint terminal described above.
Attendance recording is available on any mobile phone operating on the Symbian operating system - typically these are Sony Eriksson units.
A small module of our software is downloaded onto the mobile and provides a simple facility to record attendance and location with automatic transfer to the main system. A similar facility is available on any palmtop computer that is running Windows Mobile Version 6.
This i-Button reader is connected by a cable into a USB port on the PC. Staff register their attendance times by placing their tag on the reader. If their tag is recognised, a window appears on the PC screen confirming their name and the current date and time and asking them to click on an ‘In’ or ‘Out’ button to indicate if they are starting or finishing work.
Attendance times are automatically passed into the e-Log software. This method can therefore only operate by staff using a PC in conjunction with the i-Button reader.
